The Spartans, Trojans, and other teams, why isn't that offensive to Greeks?

Face paint is a cultural thing to help them, football players have black paint to keep sun out oof their eyes, what if thats the same for natives?

The first team to have a mascot that was cultural was what, like 1901? why suddenly bring it up in the 1980's 80 years later? why not worry when they first made it?

Thats what I put! I do believe that they do need to look at how the natives believe.

Most native american tribes support having teams named after them, but there is a point i mentioned in my post, they don't like random items named after them(Read quote at end of my claim).

Zach, if this is your claim you need more evidence to even try to make it refute why they're good.

Not every team shows them in cartoonish way, the only team I think of is the Cleveland braves. High schools have some, but the majority isn't very cartoonish. Schools are the opposite of stereotypical things, they try to end stuff like that.

I think they are okay for sport teams to use because most tribal people are very proud to have a team named after them. The Florida State University was the Seminoles and the tribes supported it, but in the end the court said they had to change it. The tribe itself supported it, isn't that enough evidence? One man said,"You name cars after our leader Pontiac, that real offensive, Apache helicopters? That's suggesting that the Apache tribe is war like and destroys all. Name a team after us, that's fine, its showing for a nice sports game, ain't nothing wrong with that,".
